MCNA is pleased to introduce the Special Needs Pediatric Dental Incentive Program (SNPDIP) for our EPSDT network providers. We recognize the additional time, expertise, and financial investment required to care for members with special needs. This new incentive program is designed to support your efforts to offer this critical care. Please read our provider bulletin for details about program requirements and time frames.

MCNA's has updated our Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs) and they are are now available for your office. Our approved CPGs can be downloaded from the Support and Downloads page in the Provider Portal and from MCNA's website under Guides and Tools.

MCNA has added the American Dental Association Guide to Claims Submission: Scaling and Root Planing to the provider resources listed under the News and Resources section of our website. This helpful tool provides guidance to your team and detailed instructions for accurate claim documentation, including:

• How to record attachment loss

• Sample charts

• Common reasons for claim denials

• Guiding values for treating dentists

• Examples of good and poor radiographs

MCNA is pleased to announce that Dental Incentive Payment Program (DIPP) checks will be sent out to our Louisiana providers on July 11, 2025, via USPS. Today we mailed letters regarding program information, which include the Milliman calculation results. Should you have any questions, please email our Provider Relations team at LA_PR_Dept@mcna.net. We appreciate your participation in MCNA’s Louisiana network!

The Louisiana Department of Health has released a bulletin about the Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic, and Treatment (EPSDT) Comprehensive Dental Benefit. We encourage you to review this information in order to help ensure your office fully understands this important benefit..

Federal regulations mandate that pediatric preventive services must be paid without regard to third party liability (TPL). Please read our provider bulletin about TPL and CARC 943 to help ensure your office has the information it needs to ensure the efficient processing of claims.

As part of our ongoing efforts to ensure smooth and efficient prior authorization processing, MCNA has identified trends related to D7240 (removal of impacted tooth - completely bony). Please read our provider bulletin for information that will help to reduce prior authorization denials.

MCNA has added the American Dental Association (ADA) Guide to Extractions – Tooth and Remnants to our provider resources.
